On Fox News this afternoon there was a poll for viewers. The poll gave a choice of who you prefer for president - Michele Bachmann or Sarah Palin. I didn't take the poll but I was surprised at the results

I really dread going through another year of campaigning. It seems like it never ends now. I told my husband I will probably stop watching the news as the Republicans all throw their hats into the ring and get moving on the campaign trail to Iowa and then New England. It's all so tedious and redundant. We've heard it all before, same thing over and over again only in a different tone and a different voice. There should be a law against campaigning all year long. Never mind the individual hasn't actually said "I'm going to run for President!" the actions are first and foremost on the TV news even before they announce.

Maybe we should change the way the news broadcast. I think so many things that happen are the result of how the media relates it to their viewers. We know this, a rational person knows this. But, we've gone too far, it won't change, we won't change, we're too use to it. We appreciate it for so long, then we wonder "is this all they've got?" But, I'm on a different subject.

The winner of the poll, in case you're interested, was Michelle Bachmann, not by a landslide, but enough of a difference. However, I will say there weren't that many votes all total, maybe because it was a holiday and everyone is out celebrating instead of watching Bret Baier's show. Bret wasn't even there, someone else was sitting in for him.

I like Michelle Bachmann. She is a Tea Partier - I'm not. I'm all for what the Tea Party stands for - I think it's great people like me have the time and energy to do what they've done to speak out for what they believe. It's fantastic. But, personally, I don't think Mrs. Bachmann, as honorable a person and experienced as she is, she doesn't have the real "fire in her belly" to WIN it!!! That is the name of the game - THE WIN!

I think Sarah Palin has the "Fire in her Belly" but she has little things about her that people don't like. I hate to say it, I really do, because I LIKE Sarah. I really do. I admire her so much. I think she had more experience than Obama hands down at the beginning of the 2008 election. But it's her voice - - mind you, it's not what she SAYS but it's the sound of her voice. Unfortunately no one can help that but it is what it is. If you were going to try out for a particular acting part in a movie and that part required you to have an accent or not have an accent, you would be given speech lessons. I'm not saying Sarah should take speech lessons - who am I to give Sarah Palin advice? But, I know it would help.

I usually don't pick the winners in most things, not sure why - except for my husband of 47 years. I thought Donald Trump could guide our country through the financial trials we are enduring and he wouldn't be afraid to stand up against any of our ruthless even doers in foreign countries - he would FIRE them!!!! AND, he know protocol - he would know when and not when to toast the Queen of England.

And, then there's Governor Perry of Texas. Great speaker and good leader. I have my eye on him, but he hasn't thrown his hat in the rings yet. I voted for Romney once, and that was enough. He has a "flame" in his belly, but not enough.

And the rest who have declared in the Republican party, well, who is it? None of them stir my spirit. I pray someone will step up to the plate with the Fire in their Belly and a Spark in their Eye and get the job done. Take the job away from Barack Obama before it's too late.

I pray for this miracle.

It's been over a year since I posted here. Facebook and other activities have possessed my attention.

This afternoon I became so overcome with emotion over the government's announcement that our economy is re-bounding I thought I would throw up!!! I didn't know where to go to get this unhealthy attitude off my mind and I remember this place, so I have returned.

Today I read a post by Andrew Malcolm and he reported on the gas guzzling vehicles that transported President Obama on a trip to Maryland to speak on clean cars. The "presidential parade" was made up of 15 gas powered vehicles, which included 2 limousines and 7 SUVs - no electric cars by the way.

Amazing, is "being green" only meant for the lower class?

We are retired. We haven't traveled in a couple of years. We are a pretty passive stay at home retired senior citizen couple. The other day my husband filled my vehicle up with gas at the cost of $100.00. If we were an active couple, we would have to give it up being active because we couldn't afford to drive anywhere very often. I do not understand how a family can survive this crisis. On every news network show today, the beginning announcement is how well our economy is doing. Are they nuts? I wonder if any Washington beaucrat has gone to the grocery store lately? Have they actually gone to a gas station? Oh wait, they are millionaires and it wouldn't bother them. Also, house prices in my neighborhood has fallen in a sink hole. We had hoped to sell our place and down size.

Our home is a large house - wonderful for raising a family. We purchased this place to take care of our disabled son, we fixed it up with all sorts of handicapped advantages, meanwhile, we also raised a grandson here, and now our son and our granddaughter are living with us because our son lost his job.

When you are retired, you are on a fixed income. When the cost of your insurance premiums for medical insurance and Medicare insurance goes up due to the new Obama health care deal, you are not compensated by a higher wage, no way, not when you're retired. You have to suck it up. We hoped to sell our home to have a nice - not lavish - but comfortable nest egg, but no way now. And we read the CEOs of Fannie and Freddie have been paid million and millions of dollars from our government - Holy Cow, it is a maddening insane world.

It is sickening when two governors try to get their state budgets under control to pay the state's bills and people are so blind to not try to work with the governors to get their job done to pay the bills. NO, it is to their best interest to revolt, to take over and to break the law protesting. I do not understand why people can't understand the reality of what is happening in our country.

I am not a Tea party member, but I am a Conservative. At this point in time, if Donald Trump runs for office I will vote for him. It seems individual politicians, the life styles of politicians and their cohorts, and the vocabulary of politicians are ruining this country. They speak gibberish, say one thing and do something else. Call each other liars without hesitation, without blinking. Today an AARP CEO was being questioned by a Republican concerning AARPs tax exempt status and a Democrat jumped in accusing the Republican of something so absurd it was stupid. This was one of the Democrats who had recently been accused of criminal wrongdoing. He got his hands slapped and was back to work. How do these guys get to have any say so in anything if they broke the law?

This must be a dream!!! And, I hope I wake up soon because if it isn't a dream, we are in for some bad days ahead. In fact, that's what I understand is precisely the idea. Obama is doing everything he can to drive up the cost of gas. His buddy George Soros is going to try to do away with currency as we know it and go to a one world currency - yes, really! All is coming to fulfillment, and there doesn't seem to be anything we can do about it because there are too many people who don't pay attention.

In a couple of months we have the supreme opportunity of changing the course of our country. We have the right as American citizens to choose an individual who we personally believe will bring our country back to "our way of thinking" as a Leader in the scheme of the world view. But, the choices on the lists are not appealing. It is confusing, what does a citizen do then? Do we vote for the party for the sake of change?

I live in the state of Harry Reid. I remember many years ago, Harry Reid was a different person, never mind the Democrat, he wasn't so high minded and resourceful. He wasn't wishy washy - at least that's the way I remembered him. He was like a common man - he was a common man back then. Like so many politicians who were no bodies when they are swept up into the limelight of high positions they become full of themselves believing they are beyond any rules and regulations. Like Chris Dodd and Barney Franks who head up the housing agencies, they are stupid blind and couldn't/wouldn't believe they have anything to do with the problems we are enduring today. I believe they are absolutely so high and mighty they are shocked to believe it is their fault.

As I write this, I have only one choice to pick for the Senator spot except for Harry Reid. I do not know this person - Sharon Angle. I see her on TV and I read the spots and the bios, but I do not have a feel for this person. She was not my pick, she is an unknown in my book and I am not comfortable choosing her.

I do believe it is time for Harry Reid to retire. Las Vegas has been hit hard by the economical disadvantages that have effected our country with the bailouts and the Obama stimulus. Obama's comments twice have been a sword in the side of our tourist industry yet it was the Las Vegas unions who worked so hard to carry the vote here in southern Nevada for Obama to be nominated here. Very curious that a man so well-educated would bite the hand that feeds him, but it didn't seem to affect the union votes at all - they are still behind him all the way. Strange.

I will hold my breathe as I push the button for my vote of Sharon Angle, doing so very unassuradely. Without confidence and without faith but knowing we need a fresh face representing our fair state in Washington and we need more Republicans in the Congress.

Although, like the borderline Republicans, Olympia Snowe, recently elected Scott Brown and a couple others, they have assisted the Democrats pass bills that the majority of Republicans were against. I have no idea whether Mrs. Angle has the fortitude to stand with the party and that is one principle I vote on.

I will add, being so far removed from the politics and running of our government we only see and hear what we are told and read in the different forms of media communications available to us today. We are trusted to figure it all out ourselves to make a balance and accurate decision. We also have no idea of the deals that are made behind closed doors to make any congressman change their vote. The deal breaker may be something so extraordinary wonderful for the states, the politician in all good conscience couldn't pass it by, thus failing to vote on party line and going with the gift horse. Would we be any different?

We have a conundrum this year and in two years when the presidential elections are before us. The changes in our country have been so dramatic. We have all been affected in one way or another.

An article in the Los Angeles times reports on Newt Gingrich and his opinion of what the Republicans need to do to win the election. Amazing appearance with his opinion is Barney Franks and his two cents worth about Newt. Is this a "here we go again" moment? Should the Republicans stand up and take notice of the man who made a difference and took back the Congress in the 90s when Clinton was in office?

The citizens of the United States stood up and voted for Change when they voted Barack Obama into office, but remember it wasn't a land slide vote. We shouldn't forget either who was on the ballot for the Republican party and remember they didn't get enough votes to carry it off. There were several good choices, it was difficult to narrow it down, maybe that was the problem then. Today we have the same ole faces back on the stage looking for another change to make their own kind of change. Please!!! I remember the struggle I had then trying to decide who I would vote for, I remember the day we went to the school down the street to pick our choice for Nevada's nominee.

There is one issue that has been brought to light from the Republican's meeting in New Orleans that is puzzling to me. Ron Paul is still a very popular politician among conservative voters. He beat out Sarah Palin, but Mitt Romney won the straw poll in the end. And, unfortunately, Newt Gingrich came in last. Personally, I don't get Ron Paul. I have met some of his supporters. They are very passionate. They are dedicated. I wasn't part of their revolution. I haven't formed a vision of him as an individual who would fit the shoes of my President. However, I will say, if he wins the nomination I will support him.

On FoxNews Sunday, Chris Wallace interviewed Michelle Bachmann. I thought the questions were hard hitting but the one I was most interested in that I have found no Republican has an answer for and that concerns the Heathcare Bill. The majority of Republicans are against the bill but none can give a quality answer on how to improve or replace what the Democrats have given us. We can all find what is wrong and that is the cost, plus some of the stipulations however what choice do we have - what can the Republicans do better. I have not heard one Republican give an answer I would stand up and cheer about. And, that is what worries me.

Complain, criticize, moan and groan, but what the heck are they going to do to trump the Dems when the election comes around. Everyone says oh this is the year the Republicans make their come back. Well, to tell you the truth, I see no movement that makes any sense like the movement Newt had back in the 90s. We are all sick and tired of having stuff rammed down our throats that we are totally against, but if the Republican leaders can't come up with how they will take the leadership, then we are in deep doo-doo! Granted there are the loyal followers who will vote conservative, but they aren't the majority.

So far, in my humble opinion, I see no mover and shaker - yes, there's Sarah Palin, but sorry folks, I'm still of the mind she needs more governing experience to win - it's just the way it is. Yes, I know she is wiser and more experienced than Obama and she probably knows a lot more about nuclear anything than Obama, but it still comes down to the persona in today's society.

I have been put to ease to know finally we are hearing more from Newt Gingrich regarding today's political theatre. It is difficult enough to keep up with all the changes in our government especially since the changes are happening so quickly. But, I am even more disturbed by the problems within the Republican party as well as the facts that many of our current elected Republicans can't seem to handle the Obama/Pelosi/Reed shenanigans. Right now the party is not up to the battle even if the election were to be handed to us on a silver platter in 2012. I don't worry so much about the local state's elections, the Republicans can handle that, but when it comes to a strong Republican president, I didn't see one in the ballgame I was comfortable with until recently. Granted, there are good people with good ideas and strong features, but not what we need running against the Obama machine.

Many voters are assuming Sarah Palin will be running for President and she is putting herself out there as though she is running, but that doesn't mean she will make a good candidate, not yet. It is my thought she should run for Congress in her own state for experience. I think she is a great motivator and I do like her a lot but I don't have the confidence that she could or would win! Unfortunately, like it or not, she needs to prove herself and it has nothing to do with her being a woman from Alaska - it is just my gut that says it. It upsets me that Barrack Obama had less experience than Sarah Palin, yet Obama continues to put her down intellectually. He is such a snob anyhow - a snob without any couth or sophication. Mitt Romney, well, I voted for him in the Nevada Primary then John McCain for president - - personally, I don't want to see either man run for President again. I think Romney should be on the president's staff. He is a very intelligent man and has a great deal to offer. He would be a great president, but there again, I don't think he could carry it over Obama right now.

Newt Gingrich has proven himself. He has also proven that he works across the aisle. He may be strong willed but he can get along with the other side - contrary to what is going on in Washington today. Gingrich spoke recently at a meeting of the Southern Republican Conference and he said that Obama is the most radical president in the history of America. You can read the article here. He has conviction in his statements with out any whimpering or excuses, you can believe it.

I also like Rick Perry, Governor of Texas, for Vice President. I am not sure how they would be as running mates, but I like the ticket.

Day after a Holy Day

We have made a pact not to watch TV news shows on Sunday. I wanted to have some sanity on the day we give up to the Lord. We don't do any servile work - hey, we don't even do our games on the computer, now I know that's funny, and I think it is too, but sometimes even the challenge of the games are too much like work - so we try to relax.

Well, I must admit I have fudged a little and given in to watch Chris Wallace on Sunday afternoons. He has on the panel Brit Hume, and I have so much respect for that man's opinion. He's the best. Well, we missed the show yesterday. It was Easter and the kids were here and we had a big dinner. We also went up to the cemetery to put flowers on our son Brian's grave - we all went. Today is the anniversary of 10 years of his death. He had been injured while serving with the Army in Germany - a non-combat accident. He was only 23 years old then in 1989. We took care of him at home for many years before he died - his lungs gave out.

But anyhow, today when anything is mentioned about VA health care I know first hand, although things have changed in 10 years, I hope. I do wonder now with all the change in my health care, my insurance, my medicare, what really will happen to the military health care and the Vets health care.

God only knows, and yet we have a President, the first, who doesn't go to Church on Sunday because he thinks it causes too much of a problem for the people. He doesn't might going anywhere else though, does he!

Not much to say today. Our favorite Fox News show is on in a few minutes. Brit Baier will off this week - he always has a good show. The question that will be asked on today's show is if you can make a better salary working for the government or the private sector. Should be interesting!

But, then I ask - by whose standard determines if in fact it is a turd?

I'll bet you couldn't guess in a million years what's on my mind. Guessing? Ok, you're right - the Obama/Democratic party Healthcare bill.

I will give credit for some issues in the bill - the lifting of the ban on insurance companies refusing people because of their preexisting illnesses; allowing children to remain on parents policies until age 26; narrowing the donut hole - not too informed on that one yet, and there are a couple other items, however, what I object to is the method and the lack of common sense approach to passing the bill, oh yeah - THE COST!

It seems to me from my prospective, President Obama passed it on to the Senate and Congress to put something together on Heathcare, no matter what, and he would pass it. He was going to trim the big package the Congress came up with back after the election in Virginia - I guess he was scared another Republican got elected, but Nancy Pelosi got upset with him, and the President backed off and left it as it. I wonder if President Obama will ever know what is in the package - do you think he will read it before he signs it?

I know the liberals shake their fingers and say we don't want changes, that we want to let children suffer and seniors do without care - but guess what - in order to help pay for this new bill, they will cut medicare which will throw seniors out the window. I have it on good information there are physicians right now refusing some senior citizens health care because the physicians are afraid they won't get paid. And the physicians know this is only the beginning. They are just as afraid as we are.

Common sense seemed to jump out the dome with the liberals. There has been no compromise allowed - none whatsoever. To say the conservatives aren't concerned about the heathcare today is stupid and irrational. As usual they are being narrow-minded.

I am attempting to learn all I can about this bill. It is posted on Foxnews, I will continue reading. It will affect not only my husband and I because we have medicare and we do have our own insurance - I'll watch and see if our premiums go up - but I feel sorry for my adult children and how the rates will affect them and the care to their children.

God bless our country - we need all the help we can get!

The Health care bill will be signed on Sunday! Oh, what a thrill! I think I'll get drunk! Oh, maybe I should make an appointment w/my surgeon and have my knees fixed and get everything else fixed that needs fixing before the bird doo doo hits the fan and the new health care laws go into effect. Because, well you know, we probably won't be able to have surgery on things like knees, fingers, toes, nose jobs, etc because nothing will be covered. It may sound silly but it really isn't.

Do you know what is in the Health bill President Obama is pushing and making deals with his Democrats over? Personally, I believe that he has no idea. I believe he just wants a deal passed because he promised he would - I really believe he doesn't care whether it would ruin our system as it is. Yes, we do need changes badly. The insurance companies need stronger regulations - oops, that means more government intervention - but how do we get away from that, they surely can't police themselves. The heath care system itself is a mess - how much do you pay for a band aid when you've gone to the hospital? Well, I know there's more than the cost of the band aid figured in on the cost, but holy macaroni, but the actual charge is just a big much, I think.

Also, what's good for one should be good for all - no discrimination allowed - be you black, white, Irish, Polish, German or whatever. If a white guy comes in with serious injuries from an accident and he just lost his job, and can't find work he will be harassed forever for payment, but if an illegal immigrant enters a hospital requiring assistance, there will be no searching for payment. It's not equal. The only alternative for the white guy is bankruptcy. So everyone loses on that deal. He doesn't want it that way, but he has no choice.

I was recently privy to information that some doctors in our town are refusing to care for Medicare patience because they are afraid they won't be paid. We know that Walgreen Drug Stores in Washington state w/not accept new Medicaid patience - and we are just beginning - the bill as it is hasn't passed yet!!!

I was an extremely healthy person when I was young, but since becoming a senior citizen everything seems to be going wrong. It's not because I lead a horrendously wild lifestyle, quite the contrary, at this time in my life we are very sedentary although we do have mild activity. I go in for regular check ups and mostly everything is good for me, except I have a few weird things wrong - like bad knees. I was a hard consistent worker, and I believe this had affect my knees. I have postponed any surgery until my husband has his surgery - both of us need both knees replace. I do fine - slowly and limited, but don't put any pressure on me to walk distances or be in a hurry, but we manage.

So if surgery is needed on whatever - I am worried how things will be after this horrible Healthcare bill is passes - it is a nightmare for sure.

You cannot say the Obama administration has been a boring event for our country, but I am personally getting bored with the repetition of the health care debate and the constant promises. At this point, I see our country going no where but it is also a world wide dilemma in one form or another.

I was surprised this morning when I found a link to a Frank Rich column in my Twitter list. Frank Rich writes for the NY Times and is definitely anti-conservative. He is a great writer, but I have disagreed with his opinions in the past. You may access his post at this link . His opinion was concerned with President Obama's first year in office and how he is handling the Health Care process today. Mr. Rich has written may opposing articles about President Bush, but since Mr. Rich is a liberal, I was taken back when I read Mr. Rich's article about President Obama.

I wonder if everyone is as skeptical about our economy as I am. It wouldn't matter whether a Democrat or Republican was in office at this point - we are in a mess and so is the world economy. Who would have thought Toyota vehicles would be having mechanical problems. Toyota had one of the highest rated reputations for a good vehicles in this country. It was to be admired. It's like the really smart brainy kids in school who went bad. Shocking! The US financial markets are in disarray. Retailers are struggling to sell their products. This all didn't start yesterday and we can blame the political for number one, having their hand in the pot and two, not doing anything to solve the problems sooner.

For years the citizen were and still are very irresponsible with their own finances. We can point our fingers at the politicians almost 95% for their misdeeds but we have to take some of the blame too. I believe it all started with the generation of my adult children. My parents worked through the depression then worked hard to get what they had and keep what they had. They retired comfortably and could enjoy life free from financial worry. Then my generation came of age and mass marketing became a new way of life. But I remember we were one of the last of our crowd to get a colored TV.

Market maneuvers were different with my kids and their friends and through TV commercials they wanted everything they saw then and now and they wanted it now - all of it. Credit cards were abundant and the companies didn't care who they sent them too - mommy and daddy would pay it, or so the companies were banking on. In the last ten years mortgages were given away to people who couldn't afford them. Foreclosures and bankruptcy became common and those words were no long evil as they would have been in my parent's day. My kids have friends who think nothing of charging a bunch of very expensive electronics and knowing they will file bankruptcy without any concern for their future or their children's future. It has all been too easy for my kids generation and those who followed and are coming of age now.

Who's fault is it? I put the blame on multiple sources. TV commercials, public and friend pressure, weakness of character which lacks responsible decisions, and also our elected officials who allowed companies to take advantage when we were so ignorant. Also, we depended and needed Fannie and Freddie to obtain real honest low cost loans to purchase home - but we were dupe by the same elected officials who put voted into office to protect these government departments. Then we got organizations such as ACORN who selected only certain folks for loan and knew they couldn't pay for them. As parents we can take some of the blame if in anyway we supported the stupid decisions our kids made which assisted them to overspend or use bogus credit cards. It is very difficult as a parent however to tell your 40 year old son what they are doing is wrong and they will not survive financially. They cannot see the outcome. They have been so brain washed, they have no idea how to save money and leave it alone. It is a sad situation.

It will take years for our country to recover what has taken many decades of overspending by the citizens and politicians. The blame should be shared by all political parties and the citizens as well. It is too sad that our elected officials can't get it together and work side by side. Their egos are too superior and they are more important than saving our country. Today we are so diverse in all realms of life there may be no turning back. The miracle of the Internet and technology has provided us with abundant knowledge but we haven't learned to channel the knowledge to a profitable base to the benefit of freedom and security of our country. Where will the compromise be or will there ever be any compromise? For the future of our country, we must band together.

I am in the retirement phase of my life. I am fortunate to have health insurance and a doctor I like and I also have Medicare. I was told by one of the receptionists in my doctor's office recently that she know physicians who are now refusing to treat Medicare patients because of the Medicare cutbacks by the Obama administration. I feel sorry for those poor souls. It has begun - will there be a turning back. Will there be a Savior to help? God only knows...........

Too little too late

President Obama appeared to a Town Hall crowd today here in Las Vegas today. The meeting was held at Green Valley High School which is dead center in the shopping area of Henderson. We were in the vicinity during the time of his appearance to the crowd but we stayed away from that specific area. I was anticipating large traffic jams but none were to be found.

On Fox News Report Bret Baier reported that President Obama told the crowd "he wanted Las Vegas to prosper" and "he loves Las Vegas." Well, President Obama, that's too little too late. Back when you made your first derogatory comment towards Las Vegas, the economy was just beginning to fall over the edge and layoffs at our hotels were just beginning. By the time your second comment was made, our unemployment rate was over 13%, home repossessions were the the highest in the nation and to top it off we have Harry Reid running for re-election. Our native son should have been on top of our problems long before you came into office President Obama, but he did nothing but encourage the problems we have with his sidekick Nancy Pelosi.

President Obama I doubt your visit to Las Vegas has much impact on Harry Reid's re-election. We are watching as the Democrats continue to play back room games with the health care program. If your two little girls tried to get by the half truths to you when you were questioning them as you do to the citizens of the United States, I know you wouldn't be too happy with them. Well, neither are we President Obama. The idea that your Health Care ideas are going to cover all but in reality not all is a hypocritical lie. We don't want your false promises, we don't want the changes you promises because your type of change has not been good for our country.

Finally, the idea that our troops in Afghanistan can not fight the war appropriately but use kid glove tactics will result in harm on our troops. The enemy is smart and shrewd and they have figured out the White House pacifist ideas with the dangerous rules of engagement. You cannot approach winning with a smile and a kind word, it will result in a huge stab in the back and a loss of our military troops.

Would you surmise that there is a vast distance between the common sense of a graduate of Harvard and a graduate from the life of hard knocks! I have had the thought of just what type of person drives a truck? I drive a truck. I have a yellow Chevrolet Avalanche - it is my 'change of life' baby. I bought it because I am old and I love the color yellow - you can see me coming down the street and when I first bought it, heads would turn as I drove down the street. I love the way it drives, not too big and not too small, has great get up and go and has the best braking system I've ever experienced. Before the Avalanche, I had a Lincoln Town Car. My truck is a girlie truck. No hauling of manure or men stuff, however, I've had to make exceptions since my husband retired and sold his gigantic Ford 350 diesel with extended cab and long bed - this was back when diesel fuel was beginning to go way up in price. Also, since he was retiring, we decided we didn't need two vehicles. I had to make a change - out the window went my possessiveness, protectiveness and then obsessive nagging came in like "watch out' you're driving too fast, etc. My yellow baby now was being share by a man driver - horror. My principle purpose for purchasing this vehicle besides loving my truck was to haul my grandson around - we raised this wonderful child and he was very active in high school - band, football, volunteer stuff and friends, friends, friend - my Avalanche was/is very durable for hauling kids. And, we do haul flowers, fertilizer, and groceries from Costco. We've taken several wonderful trips across this beautiful country of ours - and my Avalanche is a dream for tripping in! It still looks brand new even though it's seven years old.

I have attended college and but I have worked my way through life, learned common sense through the jobs I have accomplished and the tasks and people I have crossed paths with - and I can sense you are wondering - so what? The So What is revealed in the words from President Barrack Obama when he made sarcastic remarks about Scott Brown's truck. How demeaning and rude his comments were towards this man's choice of transportation. Senator-elect Brown's truck is a GMC which shouldn't even warrant any type of comment but if it did, Obama should be delighted it was a GMC - a company that this president is supporting through our tax dollars and who I believe, has a responsibility to participate to encourage that this company reach a successful goal. Obviously, President Obama doesn't have a clue about such things.

President Obama chose to make a point of fact that Senator Brown drives a truck, he jests that Senator Brown drove his truck around Massachusetts as he was campaigning. Is this a solid basis to attack an individuals choice of vehicles as he is attempting to humiliate this man who is running for a seat against his Democratic party? It was a childish attempt at humor and reminded me of someone who is grasping at straws because he really doesn't have any solid facts. Childish and boorish!

I am brought to the edge of anger when I hear or read about President Obama's education and intelligence. So what? Sarah Palin had more experience as she has worked in the private sector and as a governor and for her town than Barrack Obama hadever achieved. Senator Brown has experience as well, and guess what, he attended to law school too.

What is it with this snob attitude? He has not paid his dues in life. He has been sheltered in the labyrinth of the liberal educational community and not experienced life as a blue collar worker. His family may have been poor, but he earned his education on the backs of the taxpayers. A thought - If our country was destroyed as it is and we all had to start all over as equals - who would survive? The educators or the blue collars and their trucks? Obviously - we would have to work together - that educator would need to borrow the blue collar guy's truck to haul lumber to rebuild his house!

I think this time, President Obama has challenged the wrong subject - a man's truck. How stupid! He really was scraping the bottom of the barrel. What's even worse, the people in the audience thought he was funny. I wonder what type of vehicle they came to the meeting in - bus, taxi, car, or, wait for it - a truck!!!!

It's nonsense, but to think this is all he's got, it is pretty scary!

It is a relief to have experienced the accomplishment of Scott Brown winning the Massachusett's Senate seat. Our good thoughts for success and our prayers for his family are with him daily. All eyes will be on him. We have heard a lot of promises from President Obama this past year, many have been white lies and forgotten tales. I hope Scott Brown has the wherewithall to accomplish all that he has promised.

I haven't blogged in a very long time. I signed up on Twitter a while back so I keep in touch with my favorite conservative bloggers who are signed up as well.

It seems to me our government moves from one controversial subject to another and it is just plain depressing. So I've become a coward, I suppose, and have retreated from writing my comments - just to take a breather.

Family life has so many ups and downs, and combined with the decisions our politicians make we know that in due time those decisions will effect further what is already close to a disaster for families.

I heard an opinion this morning by a prominent TV personality who's name totally escapes me, sorry" but he stated the Wall Street CEO are making big bucks this Christmas season and they are the ones who got us in the economical trouble in the beginning - their actions and decisions then is which has impacted our finances today. They are getting away with it again and what is our government doing about it - again, absolutely nothing!!! For crying out loud, what chance do the working class have to get ahead!! We shout out "throw the bums out of office" and every voting season we either keep the same ones in or replace them with individuals with the same mindset. It is our fault we are in this mess - we have the power, but we have given it away - willingly. Oddly enough, when the bulk of our society, the middle class, do stick up and shout out they are called weird names. Oh me! What are we going to do!!!

Whatever - we have another election year coming up for our congress and senate - let's do a better job of it.

A quick note - watching Glenn Beck right now. Did you hear about Anita Dunn, the White House communication's director. She appeared on CNN today and blasted Fox News as an enemy of the country!!!!!

Holy Cow! what is happening to our country that we can't even have a choice now of who we watch that the White House communication's director can take potshots at any news network. It's one thing for the news network to compete and put out their own opinions, but another thing for the White House. Perhaps the White House staff and czars, et al, need to go back to school and learn how to read the constitution and try to understand we do have choice in this country.

I am fearful, however, that this president and his followers are trying to take our privileges of freedom away.

I have a Sunday morning routine and for as long I can remember for the past nine years, we have followed the same pattern. Coffee on, planted squarely and comfortably in front of the TV and the local news first, then CBS Sunday Morning news, and then read the newspaper. I am not sure how long I have had a fondness for Charles Krauthammer, maybe it was when we started watching Fox News in the afternoon on the weekdays when he was on the panel which appeared at the end of the news reports. Although, my first introduction of Mr. Krauthammer was long ago in the 90s when I was up early caring for my son Brian and I watched Brian Lamb and C-SPAN. Charles Krauthammer was often a guest, I enjoyed hearing his point of view then and I continue to value his opinion today.

My first stop when reading the Sunday paper is the Viewpoint section and Charles Krauthammer's column. I found this morning's column as interesting as any other of his opinions, but I thought I would share this one here today.

It has to do with the decision President Obama must make regarding sending troops to Afghanistan. If you have any family member or friend in the military, I am sure you are very interested to know what the president will decide to do. I am disappointed that it is taking the president so long to make up his mind. As you will read in Mr. Krauthammer's column, this wasn't something that just came up and the president needed more time to think. I am sure President Obama has to check with everyone of his monetary supporters to see what they think, I wish he would go with his guy. I know he and Michelle have pledge support to the military families, but you can't put off making decisions while soldiers are dying.

Personally, I find President Obama's behavior disgraceful as per the other story I just browsed on the Drudgereport page here of President and Mrs Obama going out and celebrating their 17th anniversary while we have troops dying in Afghanistan and the President can't make up his mind what to do. I think maybe he has made up his mind, but isn't sharing the news with the American people. I have been married 45 years, and I can tell you, honestly, if I had a sick child, parent, or there was a major problem in my family, there wouldn't be any going out to celebrate anything. My marriage is not based on when and where we go out to dinner but to take care of the business of the problems at hand in my family. And, I expect the same thing of my President. Surely, his chefs could have come up with something extra special for a sweet and simple twosome dinner for he and Michelle rather than having to parade all over Washington. I imagine the troops in Afghanistan would appreciate some of that R&R too.

It's makes me so sad. The news articles are saying this is the largest death count in 10 years. Don't you know if Bush would be in office right now people would be up in arms and we would hear screaming and hollering from the Democrats.

I pray that God will PLEASE give President the common sense and wisdom to make a good decision for our country and our troops first and foremost. He needs to get out of Himself and get some humility and serve the United States of America.

If you have been attempting to understand what is going on in Washington with regard to health care and what changes are being discussed then you should be congratulated!! Who can keep up? I still don't quite understand what the Government Option is but everyone says its a bad thing and now we don't have to worry because it's been written out! Whew! that was close.

Now Michelle Obama has stepped in and is speaking about health care. She is wearing what the report describes as a "bondage belt" which is something I would never wear unless I was like a size 5. But this wasn't an article about fashion unless on the other hand she was attempting to make a statement about bondage that I am too stupid to "get." In her speech she states that "women suffer under the health care system." Ok, is she trying to make the point woman are in bondage? Now, don't take me wrong, it's good to get a woman's prospective on these things. Mom's are the ones who usually do the doctor bit more than the men as far as taking the kids to the doctor and all those sorts of chores. Personally, I must reply, we have good health insurance, and I can't complain one iota about the care as a woman that I have received either now or when we were very young and struggling. I had serious health issues back then and do now and can't complain about the service I've received. Now, I 'm not saying we don't need to address other issues in our health care system, but they weren't covered in Michelle Obama's speech.

However, I was absolutely bowled over when I read Michelle Malkin's column about the health care system when then citizen Obama and Mrs Obama were leaders of at a Chicago Hospital back in 2006. Why oh Why are these type of facts held back so long and out of sight when there is a very important bill being discussed in Washington that is going to obviously change each and everyone of our lives whether we want it to or not - do we really have a choice?

If our choice is taken away from us and we are forced to accept what someone else thinks is good and it isn't then we fall prey to physician's who may not provide us with the care we need and what we have been accustomed to and we will become like cattle going to market to be slaughtered. If it didn't work for the Obama's and the hospital in Chicago, then it won't work for the whole of the United States.

I am grateful for those Democrats who have the guts to stand up against what President Obama wants and to create a program with the Republicans that will work for all of our American citizens. Oh, we can't forget all the American citizens who have protested and brought our interests to light otherwise the bill would have been passed and who knows what kind of healthcare plan we would have been stuck with - although we still are not sure!

Happy Labor Day to all! Hope each of you are having a very nice relaxing day!

Are you as confused by all of this talk about President Obama's new health care program as I am? Do you think anyone who knows what the politicians are talking about? If you flick from one news program to another you will hear entirely different explanations and the definitions will vary extremely depending on which political party is doing the talking.

I read an article in our Sunday Review Journal this morning. The article was written by Susan Estrich titled "Who will run free hot dog stand?" and it mentioned something like buying hot dogs compared to health care for $10 or $20 but some, she said, couldn't afford a hot dog for even that amount. I did not see the comparison. A friend of hers doesn't have insurance and she described what he has had to go through in the public hospital as compared to what she deals with having insurance. Her conclusion is blaming the conservatives for screwing up the ideas that liberals want to pass just because the conservatives don't want to raise taxes.

I know of two situations where both individuals have been in need insurance coverage of some kind. One individual had lost his job and shortly after that he was involved in an accident with no insurance. His health care cost was astronomical. He had worked and paid taxes since he was 16. He had insurance when he was employed. The social workers at the hospital asked him if he had the unemployed insurance, Cobra, which is available - guess what, it costs $500+ a month - please tell me, if you are unemployed, how can you pay for it!!! Duh!!! He applied everywhere for assistance and was denied - he is an American citizen. He is working now, he had to take the job he could get due to the economy and can't afford insurance because his wage is so low he can barely meet his expenses.

The other individual had a good union policy and he has a child he is responsible for 100%. He had to have surgery and he was off work too long, then the economy crash hit he lost more work time and consequently lost his insurance too. He has been earning enough time to be eligible for union insurance again, but in the meantime if his child gets ill, he's hurting or if his health problems erupt again, he has no recourse. He is an American citizen too, and has worked as well since he was 16 and paid taxes.

I am a conservative but I do believe there should be assistance available for American citizens when they need it. We are a generous country and we should take care of our own.

I can understand the point of view of the conservatives wanting to rein in frivolous spending - wouldn't you? Why would you, if you were on a fixed budget, take your mortgage money and spend it on an unnecessary trip or car or furniture. We do need our health care system remodeled and upgraded within reason.

There are three or four blanket ideas floating to be voted on when Congress returns tomorrow and now the President has come up with his own plan. Some will include the Public Option - whatever in the world that is - and some won't. And, now the Democrats are talking of pushing the Republicans out all together and they will push the bill through on some sort of executive situation.

I am sure that John Q Public is more informed today than ever in history. Because of the Internet and cable news, we have choices and through communication tools like blogging and emails we can get our opinions across. I think this is a thread to the politicians and they don't like our being more informed than they are. There are a few who have remained patient with their constituents at the town hall meets and I give them a big "thank you" whether they are Democrats or Republicans - I thank them for listening! But for those who think they know it all and have been resentful and rude, I'll bet they won't be in office next voting cycle. I wish the Democrats and Republicans would work together peacefully and with consideration to get a good heath care program passed that would help all AMERICANS now and in the future. I can dream, can't I!

I found a law website/blog which stated simply the term "public option" and you may link to it here. I don't know about you, but my head is spinning with overkill - - it's no wonder many of our politicians don't have the answers, they don't know what they're voting on either.

Feeling guilty

Actually, I was feeling guilty and wondering if I was justified in that. I remember when my husband and I went to Marriage Encounter many years ago, it was said that "Feelings are neither right nor wrong" but we know the right or wrong is the outcome and how we react.

I have not watched the funeral of Senator Edward Kennedy. I do not have fond memories of him although I have heard of many of the bills he has been responsible for that has helped the poor and needy. Nonetheless, we lived in Massachusetts during the time of the horrible death of Mary Jo Kopechne. I was much younger then but raising my children and even so had a moral sense of outrage at Senator Kennedy's reaction or lack of - totally avoiding helping that young beautiful woman who was in his care - a coward. And since, cooperating in assisting getting his nephews off and out of trouble when they had women troubles. I just don't have any respect. Maybe that's why I really don't feel guilty or want to give any homage to a man of his background.

When I opened my blog dashboard the first thing I saw was the photo of a very young military boy - yes, a boy. He had only been in the Army for a year and now he is dead. Can you imagine the grief of his parents. This is where my grief and tears are shed - painfully. He is the hero and he should be given the honor that Senator Kennedy is receiving. Oh my! My heart is breaking into 1000 pieces thinking of that young man's family. So soon, gone. Truly a Hero.

The solder is Pfc. Matthew E. Wildes, 18, of Hammond, La., joined the Army in 2008. He deployed to Afghanistan on May 24, 2009, and died August 27 of wounds suffered when enemy forces attacked his vehicle. You can read more about this young man at Airmanmom's blog.

Don't you agree - it's a mess and getting worse!

No quotes or links or educated pronouncements here tonight. I can't remember a time when our country was under more turmoil that since Obama took office. The media had a field day to begin it all but for the most part now you may be really getting both sides of the story. The Conservative and Liberal side, yes, we have to allow both sides to be heard and said. There has to be equality, but up to now it has been one-sided.

It's a laugh that the Obama administration groupies with the close union organization SEIU and another Liberal group called "Health Care for America Now" will be professing their basic freedom of speech to hit the road and denounce what the Conservatives and Independent Parties have been professing. The Democrats have chastised those who have come out to disagree and voice their opinions as being radicals and even worse. But, aha, now they are following the LEADERS and COPY CATTING exactly what they have denounce. Oh, the farce in it all. This should be an interesting week watching the Obama Health Care posse carry out their duty - attempting to put down and put out the energy of what has become a huge success for those individuals who have spoken against the Obama Health Care programs.

We have a right to choice and to know what to expect. Granted there are areas where there should be changes - but not the entire Health Care system.

CBS Sunday Morning

Every Sunday morning, Bob and I make a point of being in front of the TV to watch our favorite Sunday program. It is complete with all types of entertaining varieties of interest from music, art, interviews and nature. This morning the show began with two sections both about President Obama's healthcare program and the public who are debating and attending the town halls. After only 15 minutes of watching which included the intro and commercials, I had had enough and my husband agreed.

Here's a link to one of the CBS reports. Their argument has now become that we don't know what is in Obama's Health Care bill. Well, guess what? He most likely doesn't either since he has left it up to the House and Congress to put it all together. President Obama gave them a list of what he wants for the bill and let them to the work of putting it into a bill to be voted on.

"Members of Congress are getting more than an earful," political professor Larry Sabato, who directs the University of Virginia's Center for Politics, told CBS News Correspondent Sharyl Attkisson for CBS' "Sunday Morning." "They're getting a belly full." He went on to labeled the town hall attendees as "belly-achers" - in this report - and that's when our TV went black - we turned it off. I resent the labeling they are giving those individuals who are exercising their basic right to speak. Their labels are childish. I was hoping this report would cover both sides, but it wasn't a balanced report. Why can't any of these networks tread the middle of the road and present these situations equally?

This is only one of several town hall photos used in this report. I especially like the sign mentioning "fishy." Once the idea of the White House sniffing out emails that seemed "fishy" became public then another robust outrage began against the White House and for our right to Free Speech. Yet, the reports detail the people in a riot mode whereas in the President Obama Town Halls everyone is smiling prettily. I think that's not reality.

In any of the photos or news clips I have seen, the people seem to represent the ordinary United States citizen. The ones who have worked so hard all their life to earn what they have. Middle Americans who don't want President Obama and the Democrats to take away their rights.

One of our Las Vegas Review Journal writers, Thomas Mitchell, wrote a column for the Sunday Viewpoint section. The title of the column is "Instead of shouts, insults, how about persuasion?" I agree that some restrain and less hollering would be to our benefit. However, on that note, on this mornings CBS show, a clip highlighted the young woman who was speaking to Senator Spector. I have seen this clip quite often and my opinion of her demeanor was quite different from the way she was portrayed in this mornings report. At the town hall, she had a list in her hand and granted, she was excited as she spoke but she was not hollering at Senator Spector. She was looking directly at him and standing probably three to four feet away from the senator. She was extremely concerned and those feelings came through in her words, however, the CBS reporter labeled her as one of the "belly-achers." Come on now!

These people are like the sleeping lion that has been awakened. Regardless of whether yelling or being nice, this movement has certainly put the Democrats and President Obama on the defensive and perhaps they will put more thought into what type of bills they will produce. And, perhaps, this will also highlight the politicians who have their own best issues on their mind and not their constituents.

Whole Foods being put out to pasture by the Libs

Well, talk about the protesters being rowdy in the town halls and the Obama administration harassing them!! I just read a story on Twitter, then a blog, then the article in ABC news on line (read the ABC story here). It's unbelievable that the Obama administration would turn on one of it's own just because he voiced his opinion about Obama's Health Care plan and the disagreement of the plan. Oh sob sob! I am referring to the grocery store - Whole Foods. The store is being boycotted because the Democratic CEO disagreed with the Obama health care plan. Unfortunately, those who are boycotting the store have their information backwards, I believe. The individuals who were interviewed and said they would not shop at Whole Foods since they heard about John MacKey's opinion, are under the impression that the Obama Health Care Plan WILL give health care to all. Maybe it will, and maybe it won't but regardless it will be at such a cost, the guy boycotting the Whole Foods Market will probably not have enough money left from his pension or paycheck to purchase the food.

It makes me wonder if President Obama or any of his administration ever had a college course in economics - where are they going to get the money to pay for this health care plan. Granted there are many who need health care assistance, but not the way the Obama administration is planning

There is no discrimination here - the pious outrage will befall anyone regardless of race, religion or political selection. We are NOT permitted our own opinions if it disagrees with the Obama administration on any matter and if we dare we will be chastised and cast off as demons. It is pathetic. If President Bush ever did even one-tenth of the stuff the Obama gang is getting away with, he would have been run out of office without nary a Congressional rule on it.

The day will come when there will be an uprising and the citizens will speak. President Carter had a short lived four years, and if these sorts of antics continue like attempting to mess around with our Freedoms, then four years will be it for President Obama and his administration.

Town Halls for All!

I know a lot of people who shout, scream, throw fits, shake their fists and other types of gestures at their TVs during some types of news broadcasts and they are mainly the political ones I'm referring to. The people that I know are not the type to march in a riot type of situation - maybe I could call them "closet protesters" and they have finally come out of the closet.

Why are people so surprised? For years and years and years, we've used our common courtesy and remained calm in public, maybe shaking our head if we hear a broadcast or read a newspaper headline in public we disagree with. We restrained ourselves until we go home, get comfortable in the privacy of our living rooms or den with our favorite drink and snack and turn on the network news. I am not alone when I confess I have screamed at the TV violently and spoken to politicians who could not hear me. My husband is a quiet man and he has laughed at me sometimes because I suppose it could be a humorous sight to see this ole lady saying nasty things to a TV screen, but I've experienced his attitude towards the opinions and comments from politicians and his remarks ain't pretty either!

So now!!!! we have our outlet to be heard. We can go to our political Town Halls to be heard - that is if your congressman is holding them. Unfortunately for us here in Nevada, Senator Harry Reid is not going public with his Town Halls. He is in trouble here in this state anyhow and there are many who would like him out of office. Do you think he might be afraid to face his constituents?

President Obama jabbed Las Vegas a couple of times and his comments have effected the economy very negatively. I didn't hear Senator Reid stand up for us one time, so don't you know those attending the Town Halls would give Senator Reid an ear full. It does make me wonder, will Nancy Pelosi be holding Town Halls?

So, we have come of age and found our forte - the Town Halls, and we are being chastised by the MSM and Democrats. I guess because we have "stolen" their techniques for getting noticed. Well, too bad, we have found our voice and we WILL use our inalienable rights for our Freedom to Speak.

I really do hope people will be courteous - you can get a better response through politeness than shouting.

It is very frustrating to hear the Liberals accuse the individuals at the Town Hall meeting to be a racist group just because they are opposing President Obama's Health Care plan. There are many of us who also didn't like President and Mrs. Clinton's Health Care plan back in the 90s when President Clinton first came into office. No one called us racist then - so why would they be doing this now? We are opposing a plan.

I just listened to a clip from an internet news link - Bretbart Youtube video of Rep Dingell accusing anyone who spoke out against this Healthcare Bill of being members of KKK. Since when do we not have a right to speak out against any issue we oppose to our elected members of Congress? Granted, some individuals and groups are more rowdy than others and so what - unions are organized and they march and protest and sometimes are rowdy - that is their right, have you ever seen anyone complain about their protest tactics?

President Obama was voted into office by ALL classes of American - or - he wouldn't have been elected. Why are people trying to tear down what I would have hope would have been a character building time for our country? These senior citizens and young people are not protesting against any person's skin color, religion, or background, but a basic issue of our country which if passed will change everything for many of us that are satisfied with what we have.

The Heritage Foundation writes "Criticizing the President is not Racist" - and if you think back, when did it ever become an issue when a person of any race criticize a president be accused of being racist? We are losing the principal stronghold of our freedom to make this our main issue and we will lose our basic of freedom of speech for all by making race an issue, because race certainly isn't the main issue here - this change effects every American citizen.

How the Congress votes will change life for all. There is no doubt we do need health care changes for those in need, those who can't afford to pay for insurance, better control perhaps on the outragious costs of health care, medication and services. There has to be a more substantial method to this plan than taking from the majority who are opposed to the plan on the table at this time.

Can you imagine? We were watching CNN this morning - both channels, separate formats, different reporters and I was shocked by the rude manner of the media's reporters as they talked about the behavior of the people at the town meetings. The media's take was so outragiously absurd and I believe the media's opinion is on the merge of fantacy - they must have one heck of a slanted writer to report the justification of American citizens voicing their opinion as being a crowd in a riot mode. I think it is actually so funny how the media is ganging up on the Seniors because they have finally come out and spoke up for what they want. It must be a real shocker for the youngins that run the news media today to see people their grandparent's age getting rowdy - maybe they think it's only the rights of the youth to speak their mind in a town hall. Maybe they think anyone over 55 years old should be seen and not heard. Well, it's howdy doodie time kiddies!!! They forget we are the very ones that paid the big bucks for the media and other business survival today. We are the shakers and the movers but we've moved on to our relaxing days - but surely don't want some guy like Barack Obama and his associates coming in and taking away what we worked so hard so long to enjoy.

Take a good look at those people showing up at the town halls! They remind me of hard working individuals who have saved and skimped for their family, probably working more than forty hours a week, and the mothers who worked too and put their kids through college - and it's probably the same kids who are raising hell about the Seniors standing up for their earned rights to speak.

I don't give a shit whether it's organized or not - we have our rights to raise hell just like everyone else does. I am so very grateful these people have the balls to get out there and speak their mind. President Obama is NOT my savior - not in a million years and he doesn't have the loving spirit to give us what we need. He wants to form us into what he and his community organizers from the gangster work he came from in Chicago are like - - well, buddy, it ain't gonna happen.

Thank you to all those Seniors and Youngins who have joined in and are speaking your minds. We are behind you all the way. We know the truth of the matter. If CNN, CBS, ABC, and NBC don't get their act together - they will all be out of business and the only media station in business will be Fox - and that wouldn't bother me a bit.

Journalists Laura Ling and Euna Lee are home - thanks mostly in part to the journey President Bill Clinton made to North Korea to meet with the leader Kim Jong Il. You can read more about the home coming here.

Regardless of which political preference, during a time like this we must be thankful to our President, Secretary of State, Al Gore, and especially President Clinton for their efforts to free these two women who it seemed were doomed to a life of hard work and solitude in a foreign country.

Their arrival on American soil in Burbank, California, via a private jet provided by an American businessman to President Clinton was followed by all the news networks this morning. We were able to experience the young ladies first steps back on American soil and share their tears as they were greeted by their family. It was truly a rewarding event.

Thank you to our administration for all you did for the safe return for these two young female journalists. Also, appreciation to President Clinton and his relationship with the North Korean leader without which this event may not have occurred.

I believe this is the reasoning most liberals have today however I am not with that majority of thinkers.

Granted the system needs changes and better guidelines and over seekers, but to add more czars and add more committees whether from inside or outside the government is not what is needed. If we are broken now, we need to fix it. If you have a flat tire, you don't go buy a new car but fix the flat. If you think about it, the thinking of adding more agencies is about as bad as what we have been going through with the lending companies - give out credit whether they can pay for it or not.

It's time to stop and take serious evaluation of the good and the bad. Everything is not in disrepair. We definitely do need people who are experienced to do the repair work. Would you hire a pool man to come in a fix your electricity? This is was the Obama administration has been doing - hiring inexperienced individuals to head up agencies.

I guess President Obama is trying his best to pay back to all his faithful friends with top jobs at the White House. It is essential he realizes at some point you can't put an inexperienced person in a top priority job and fix our economy and health care efficiently and effectively. We don't have time to "train on the job" because we are going down the sink hole fast and so far there's no one experienced enough to plug the drain.

In the course of the past couple of days, I have responded to several opinion polls as to whether or not I thought Sonia Sotomayor would be the next Supreme Court Justice to replace Souter. I answered yes every time. There was only one poll out of the many that was tied with "no" the rest were all unanimous yes, she would be confirmed.

I actually felt guilty, but it is inevitable. Not only because the Democrats outnumber the Republicans but because it is a done deal. The Republicans had a tough time selling their candidates regardless of their race or experience. I don't know why except the first word that popped into my mind was pantie waist chickens - the Democrats that it! I know that is a silly thing to say but I do think they act juvenile at times. They scream racial indignations all day long, but if a Republican brings a full qualified person of Hispanic or African American or even Italian, Irish or Polish, forget all about it - - it's a no wash!

It all gets very boring after a while being able to predict the footpath of the Dems. I wish they would practice what they preach. This position should be about the law and the following to the letter of the same.

I was reading an article in Salon.com by Camille Paglia and I was surprised by the tone of her response to a letter from a reader. I have this impression "Salon" is a liberal publication and I would never see anything in the least supporting any Conservative, but I guess I am wrong. The headline of Camille Paglia's article caught my eye in this morning's Drudgereport.com which I check faithfully early every morning and in the evening. The title of the article related to whether "Palin can ever come back ." Surprisingly, Camille Paglia's reply to the gentleman's questions was similar to how I have felt and I am very comforted to see it in the written press. You can read the full text of her reply here.

I know first hand how difficult it is as a woman to be committed to both family and a job. Governor Sarah Palin has been blessed with generous skills of organization and love. She has prospered well in both lifestyles of being a public servant and a wife, mother and her own person. She has also been fortunate to have a very loving and accepting husband without whom she couldn't have accomplished what she has. Her children are blessed with the abundant love from both parents and have demonstrated their bond as a family many times on the public stage. The other family who has been in the public political eye has been the Kennedys. They also experience a close bond, a deep commitment and also tragedies. They also had a disabled child in their family.

I do find extreme contradictions in the way the families are treated by the media and I believe it is because of the gender of the politician as well as the financial background. I am convinced that Governor Sarah Palin has been the blunt of so much ill publicity and lies because she is a woman. No man would have to put up with the enormous baseless stories. She is a strong woman and I believe even women might feel agitated and compromised by Sarah's aggressive authority even though she is a committed organizer and get it done person. Women might also fear her and be jealous. Why else would a blogger from Alaska be one of the thorn in the side of Sarah Palin? Yes, there is the Freedom of Speech issue, but lies are not apart of our freedom.

Personally, I wish she had pursued her aggressors in a more subtle and quiet manner. She obviously (hopefully) has a good lawyer. For those instigators who are pursuing a route that is illegal, they can be stopped and without her making a sound, the issue pretty much settled. Well, settled as much as it could be in our country run by Democrats with a one-sided view. Oh, was that a slight of hand comment - well, take it as you will!

The important issues in my life are minimum compared to Sarah Palin's trial, but my issue was my son's life. I handled it without fanfare but with action unknown to those who were preforming poorly. It's not a valued comparison I know, but one I know does get results. I've heard opinions from many commentators that I respect and their comments were that Sarah should stop talking about it, and I agree.

It swells my heart and brings tears to my eyes when I see this beautiful young woman who has accomplish all that she has with the magnificent family and terrific husband. I want her to succeed. She does have a glass ceiling to break and she can. She has a lot of work to do before she can succeed in accomplishing that goal. One last word, for some reason and I can't figure out why, I believe the Republican Party is not completely behind her. Why would John McCain's staff treat her so poorly and without respect - maybe I'm wrong on that, it's my gut feeling from what I have read. Are they - the Republican Party - intimidated by this aggressive woman?

I hope she succeeds, I want her to succeed. Whatever she chooses to do, whether it's now or later, I wish her well always. God bless you and your family, Sarah Palin!

I was shocked when I heard the announcement from Sarah Palin this afternoon. She won't be running for re-election as Governor of Alaska. I am not sure I understood her completely, but I thought she said she would be stepping down soon.

She mention that she had a half million dollars in legal fees due to the personal attacks on her. There isn't a day that goes by someone isn't picking on her or her family. I've never seen anything so horrible in the media in all my days on this earth. What is wrong with people?

Is there something wrong with being a God-fearing, family loving and respectful person in this society? Is there something wrong with caring about your neighbor and what happens to our environment? Is there something wrong with being honest? What has happened to our America? There was a time when what Sarah Palin stood for was what every family was about - there was no difference from house to house, but not any longer.

We haven't heard the end of this. Sarah Palin - you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers! We support you!

Humiliation! What is wrong with these men! There's so many things I'd like to write about these situation with our outstanding brilliant Republican leaders and their obvious stupidity and inability to control their insatiable sex drives - they are selfish indeed. Some say it has nothing to do with the way they lead the country - it most certainly does - it clearly is directed to their commitment and honesty.

I am an old lady but I have been married and been true to one - it's not difficult - it's a matter of who you are true to, when you hurt your spouse, the one who is really hurt the most is yourself because you become a betrayer of your own values and virtue. For crying out loud! Yes, I hold these people to a higher standard, I trust them, although I know for many that trust is misplaced.

I at least give Senator Ensign credit for settling up with his wife, and he is darn fortunate that she was willing to work with the situation and do counseling. But, the Governor from South Carolina, balderdash!!!! Did you hear about the emails-----the first thing I thought of was it's too bad he didn't say those sweet things to his wife and maybe he wouldn't have problems!

Who's next? Some humans can be so naive and weak. They'll be more to fail. It's tough out there in the political circle right now, maybe this is a way to cope with the stress. Oh Good Lord, please help us all!

And another thing - Obama is pushing all these new rules, regulations and changes through so quickly - just so no one will read the umpteen hundreds of pages in each bill so they really don't know what they are signing. He is very cunning! He's out to prove a point and he's winning! Medical changes, an outrageously expensive energy program, immigration reform, and the riots in Iran and North Korea's nuclear weapons - just to name a few items to be concerned with! And, he wants every bill pushed through the Congress without nary a peek or discussion! I wonder why that is? By the way - have you noticed, President Obama hasn't mentioned our wonderful military personnel once in any of his speeches or townhall meetings. Has he forgotten who is protecting our homeland?

Barney Frank and Chris Dodd, now aren't they a cozy pair! They make me sick to my stomach.
Those two are the tip of the iceberg of deaf and dumbness - they can't see the forest because of the fog - it is those two who served on the finance committees who were blind to any problems that then President Bush brought to light regarding the failures of Freddie and Fannie. Now they act like Robin Hood and Friar Tuck riding in on their white limousine with all the answers. And another thing when President Bush wanted to make cuts in Medicare, the Democrats had a huge hussy fit.

This is like a play on Broadway and its difficult to tell the good actors from the stinky actors. And, for the finale, President Obama has fired one of his administration committee heads because President Obama said " the man was disoriented" and a lot of other things - well, duh! President Obama should be writing out VP Biden's walking papers - I've never seen any elected person so disoriented as Joe Biden is - and guess what? he's going to run for president after Obama's terms are up!!!! This is really a BAD play!!!

I know this is a mashed up maybe unintelligent post but I can't think fast enough to capture how really upset I am about all the crap happening around us. And, President Obama is picking on Fox News because they aren't bowing down and kissing his shoes - please!

Sorry Sarah, but I agree with Charles Krauthammer

The issue of Sarah Palin vs David Letterman was brought up during the Lighting Round on the Fox New's Political Report this afternoon. It was Charles Krauthammer's opinion and I lean towards agreement with the esteem Mr. Krauthammer, its time to let it go.

We are into what, day four or five of the Letterman vs Palin ugly dispute. There's no doubt Sarah is in the right and in my words, Letterman is a scumbag for discussing Sarah's daughters in an extremely sexual manner. It isn't only Letterman who is a dope, but the people in his audience for clapping cheering and laughing and the all the others who continue to support Letterman. As one blogger wrote, it would be a very different story if Letterman had said something like this about the Obama girls or even Chelsea Clinton.

But, enough already. There's no more to be gained, the more it is talked about by Sarah and our side, the more Letterman gains. This all goes to prove one thing, now sexist Letterman is and how hypocritical the Liberals are. Sarah needs to get down to discussing the difficult issues if she is going to run for a higher political office. Those who are important and those that matter know the story and we need no explainations - we are with you Sarah!

Thanks to one of my favorite blog sites - Le gal In sur rec tion for a link to a new to me blog -the Right Wing News, I would still be feeling like I am the only one who thinks First Lady Michelle Obama's clothes are in my humble opinion - dorky! Here is the link to that article and to a really interesting blog.

I feel like President and First Lady Obama has brought a new style of uncomfortable chic to our Whitehouse. I've felt uneasy that I seemed to be the only one mentioning it. I knew that surely someone else noticed how out of place her outfits seemed to be. I have thought they both lacked the polish and sophistication I expect from someone occupying the Whitehouse. But, referring back to yesterday when I thought that perhaps it was a youth thing, I am older and all the previous First Ladies were more mature in age than Michelle so in retrospect I thought that perhaps it wasn't so outrageous for our First Lady to wear more youthful styles. However, I was cringing when I saw the photo of our First Lady exiting "Westminister Abby" looking as though she had just visited a friend for a drink. Her casual outfit seemed so disrespectful and inappropriate for the occasion.

As for President Obama, the most recent photo of him with his feet propped up on his desk, eating a cracker while talking on the phone wasn't too mannerly. Why would he permit such a photo to be taken by the Whitehouse photographer? The headlines attached to the photo certainly hasn't been complimentary - "Obama Shoe Photo Seen as Insult by Some Israelis."

Both the President and First Lady seem to have taken their positions on as being above the rest of the world - as they are the greatest and beyond reproach. A Newsweek writer even went so far as to mention President Obama as a "god." They have been catapulted to stardom in an unrealistically short space of time and there seemingly remains a long time to go.

It was reported this morning on Foxnews and CNN about the jokes David Letterman told in his top 10 list mentioning the Palin daughters and sex. Here is one article about the incident.

I find David Letterman's comments disgusting, but it is something close to obsessive not only this incident but all others articles the liberal media or personalities have with Sarah Palin and her family. What is it with them? I read the comments following this article and a couple others and their opinions are so disrespectful. Does in all come down to the facts of being liberal in actions advocating abortion, free sex, drugs, homosexuality, etc, versus following a religious belief and trying to raise your children with good morals? Unfortunately, there is an issue of free will in all of us and we do mess up, but are conservatives held to a higher standard and can be chastised easier by the mass of liberals thus giving themthe liberals, the freedom to say whatever they want no matter who it affects? They protect their own, for example, Former President Clinton, and his "love affair" in the oval office. An person I know who is an extreme liberal said about President Clinton "that was his business and it didn't affect his job as President." She said the same thing about Senator John Edwards from North Carolina - "what they do in their private life is of no concern since it doesn't affect their job"- that's a Liberal Democrat opinion. So why are they picking on the Republicans? Do we do hold ourselves to a high standard and are our family values higher? I don't think so, as I am not implying Democrats do not have high standards for their families but they just can't see the inequality as they are criticizing Sarah Palin.

Governor Sarah Palin didn't shun her daughter when she was pregnant but took care of her. There are many of us who have gone through the same situation as Sarah has - not condoning the action of their child but certainly knowing it isn't the baby's fault. Could it be those who are complaining and shouting out ugly remarks about the Palin's they themselves were abandoned by their mothers, maybe they were neglected and shunned by society and this is their revenge for not receiving the acceptance for their mother's transgressions. I don't know the answer for that and I don't understand the cruelty in their comments. I just don't get it. Why do the liberals consistently attack Sarah Palin? Are they fearful of her strength?

In the article I referred to above in this post, they are again attacking Sarah for shopping. Please check out this photo I have copied from the "Washington Examiner." First Lady Michelle was coming out of Westminster Abby. Personally, I think her outfit is too casual for the event but most of the posts have favorable comments about her outfit. She is young and maybe that's the deal - it's a different set of rules for her generation. All the articles of Michelle and the children shopping in Paris are complimentary and positive. Whose money is First Lady Michelle spending by the way? And, what about the big party for the Obama girls in London on the set of the Harry Potter movie stage? Who paid for that? I don't begrudge the girls their fun but I certainly don't like the double standard. The press pounces on Sarah Palin for everything and Michelle can wear a $500 pair of tennis shoes to serve the homeless. I think she could wear a paper sack and it's all haute couture.

This afternoon on Fox News it was announced that Charles Krauthammer won the Eric Breindel award for Excellence in Journalism. You may read about it here.

My husband and I are faithful watchers of the Fox News program in the afternoon where Charles Krauthammer is a member of a panel of three - himself included. It is an inspirational and educational 20 minutes because Mr. Krauthammer doesn't mince his words and sometimes adds a touch of humor which can be momentous! His opinion on political matters is to be respected.

The first time I saw Mr. Krauthammer was back in the early 90s when I was a faithful watcher of C-SPAN early in the morning when Brian Lamb was the host. I was always up early (3:00 AM Las Vegas time) because I was caring for my son Brian who had been injured while serving with the Army in Germany. My Brian had severe brain damage and severe respiratory condition. Brian was totally disabled and we never left him alone. I became a C-SPAN addict since the cable programing at that time was slim but also C-SPAN offered volumes of knowledge to be learned by just tuning in.

Mr. Krauthammer was a regular guest on C-SPAN at that time. Then, as now, I find him very interesting and wouldn't miss any opportunity to hear him speak or to read his columns.

I was very proud and grateful he was awarded this award. He is truly deserving.

Today we give honor to those who have served their country well and gave their life to protect. We are a grateful nation and we appreciate what our veterans gave given for our country.

Later this morning, we will go to our Veteran's Cemetery to place flowers at our son's grave.

It is an awesome sight pulling into the cemetery entrance to see all of the American flags placed by each gravestone - the wind blowing each flag gently. It is breathtaking.

Soldier Tom's home, I've been occupied!

Our Soldier Tom has been home for a week now and we've been so very busy. It's great to have him home and back from Iraq.

BUT, I couldn't let this opinion go by without stating on this issue. I love VP Cheney but coming into the limelight at this time has made my day! I have a smile on my face when I see him in the news or hear him speak to the reporters. I think he has been fantabulous. He can carry it off better than anyone right now speaking on the issues contradicting President Obama - who woulda thought.

You have to love him - and too, he has a couple of Yellow Labs and a Black Labs - all the reason to be partial to him. I know his speaking out on the terrorist issues and other national problems has surprised many on the left - I am sssooo glad.

I know some of the Republicans are not too happy about his appearance, but I really don't care. There was a report on the news this morning about the Republican party losing members and they are about as many registered Independent voters as there were in 1992 when Perot was running for President. I will remain true to my Republican Party, but I sure as heck don't have to agree with some of their opinions - they best get busy or they'll lose again in 2012.

I have become accustomed to mistrusting the Democrats. Anything they do and everything they say has an ulterior motive. So, now, we have President Obama doing something to preserve the policies of Former President Bush - well, he isn't really preserving Bush, but the politics - is there an ulterior motive, or, has he really listened and taken the advice of his Commanders who know more than he does when it comes to the military and war. Personally, I believe you have to had served in some capacity to understand the commitment the person has when they put on the uniform. There's no politics involved, it is serving our country and protecting it from harm. They do it willingly certainly not for the notoriety.

I am awe inspired and speechless and grateful President Obama has chosen this path to preserve the photos of the treatment of detainees in Iraq and Afghanistan from the public eye. I hope he doesn't go back on his word and bale in to the groups who can be rather resourceful to get their way.

Although, one positive element if there are additional investigations - the Dems especially Nancy Pelosi who have had loss of memory of who knew and who didn't would be revealed full face with their possible lack of honesty. When have you ever seen a politician do the "two-step" so effectively for so long - Mrs. Pelosi performs "the change my mind soliloquy" seamlessly.

It was with great sadness that I read about the passing of Jack Kemp. He was a mainstream Republican who became familiar while serving with the George H. W. Bush administration. He had been diagnosed with cancer in January.

Our prayers are with his family and friends.

Have you seen our First Lady out being fancy free with her brand new shoes? First Lady Michelle Obama steps out in Lanvin sneakers and they're only $540! Read more here The article reports she is volunteering at the local Food Bank.

I am at odds to come up with what would I wear to help out at a local food bank, but I don't think it would be an expensive pair of shoes or clothing. Granted, she needs to dress the part for her title, but, well, did we critique Lady Di's attire when she was visiting the poor - or was she more adaptive to her environment and more interested in helping those in need rather than doing a photo op moment!

It is refreshing however that the media is reporting on the First Lady of the White House and the price of her attire rather than the Governor of Alaska. I wonder what designer's wear would First Lady Michelle wear if she went riding on a motorcycle or racing in the Adirondacks. Can you see the headlines now? Wow, the cost of those leather goods would set back the budget a few dollars. I know I am being sarcastic, but why bother with these reports anyhow, unless it is strictly a photo op.

I am watching until she does something constructive with her time. The garden bit was just a photo opportunity. I've put in many gardens and her way wasn't the way! Yes, I know visiting shelters and dishing up food to the homeless and talking to military wives is encouraging - but, can she do it without the camera and publicity? What of it all? The military families need help. I have read it is on the agenda, but what, what does the Obama administration plan doing for the families? What is the Obama administration plan on doing for the homeless - or should that be better left to the states and local government to deal with on the basis of their environment. Showing off the wealthy side of life to the poor of the poorist by bringing the White House staff and serving fancy food is very poor in taste and lacks common sense.

Unfortunately, my budget doesn't accommodate me running out and purchasing a pair of those $540 Lanvin sneakers. Right now I'm wearing a very old pair of worn out sandals that are quite comfortable.

Obama's "I have a gift" and Supreme Court Justice Souter retirement

My blogger rights haven't been taken away yet, but I've had commitments elsewhere which kept my mind from filling with blogger chatter. I know its an addiction but I had to take an antidote and stay away from the "blogger" file folder on my desk top - it wasn't easy.

There's so much to chose from going on out there in the MSM and with Fox News - easy pickins for us to post. However, I was a bit besmungined by the latest orator and revelation by Harry Reid that Obama admitted to Senator Reid that he, Obama, "had a gift" with reference to a speech Senator Reid wrote about in his book coming out soon. Oh good heavens - humility is no where to be found on the premise when Obama is in the room. It is great that Obama is so fond of himself that he can reveal this tidbit to Senator Reid, and of course, Senator Reid couldn't pass up the chance to write about it in his book. Can you believe it, even the Senator's wife told him not to write it but Senator Reid couldn't resist.

Today when President Obama announced Supreme Court Justice Souter's decision to retire, President Obama added a few comments relating to Justice Souter's reasons. Previously, the news reporters were saying that Souter didn't like the political environment and looked forward to spending more time at home. Unless I totally misunderstood President Obama's comments, he was blaming the conservatives for running Justice Souter off. Excuse me, Justice Souter has voted liberal and yet remained through President Bush's terms in office, but now he's leaving when President Obama is in office. Justice Souter said "he didn't like the political environment." Well anyone with half a mind would get it - he doesn't like what President Obama and his liberal people are doing around Washington. Or, did I miss something?????

As a Republican I really do feel like a minority, swimming without a paddle and getting blamed for everything. Of course, it is so commonplace for Obama to blame the Bush administration for everything that's wrong and even though the Bush Administration has left town and we know everything is worse than when Obama came to the White House, who else is there to blame, an imaginary friend? And, then there's Senator Spector jumping ship!!! It's almost like a magical adventure land story, too good to be true, but unfortunately it is our life today here in the USA.

I don't entirely remember what it was like back in the day before Newt Gingrich gathered up good and dedicated flock and took Washington by surprise. But I think we are in the same boat now and we need a strong leader because it's a worse time all around. We have several good Republican leaders out there but are they strong enough to fight the good fight - this time I think its different. Back then when Newt came into the Congress, he and President Clinton worked together. You could see there was a respect between the two men. But, this time the Dems out number us - a lot - and I don't know how we will survive this time! Obama came into office chanting "Change." I will begin chanting "Hope" that is hope for a miraculous Republican Comeback! I know we can do it!

I'm going to be rationed - help!

According to Charles Krauthammer's article (read it here) "Obama: The Grand Strategy" - I am an endangered species and if I need a hip replacement I could be in deep doo-doo if Obama's health plan is approved.

I have reached the Age of Medicare this year and should be receiving my card soon. Fortunately, we do have a REAL health care insurance policy to subsidize our health problems. Yes, we are fortunate, but the plan is expensive. The era of knee and hip replacement has been on going for many years, just as medical heart problems, cancer, etc, but according to Mr. Krauthammer's article, if we are old and ready for Heaven's Calling, we could be denied the right to receive certain medical treatment under President Obama's new health care program. Seems to me I've heard about this happening in other countries, but we, as U. S. citizens, have escaped that sort of discrimination in our healthcare system - perhaps so - until now!

The Age of Growing Old Gracefully into the Age of Medicare has been transposed under Obama's plan from Gracefully to If You're Lucky and maybe Medicare would still be there. Would that method of rationing transpose to the need of less nursing homes? Our country will then be occupied by only humans below the age of 55 since that seems to be the age when ailments seem to imposed problems. Can you imagine that? The wisdom of age will be gone.

Another issue on my mind which does not relate to Obama's Health Plan but to his ideas for Green Cars. Look at Obama and his wife - healthy, fit, energetic, he works out constantly, and I would guess so does Michelle. There is a time in every one's life where the inevitability happens and arthritis and other ailments impose their ugly heads in one's life - I'll bet Michelle's mom is plagued with some type of age related ailment. The point is those who have those types of problems and many other illnesses do not have the physical capabilities to get in and out of one of those tennie tiny cars. Do the people in Washington make decisions based on their own physic and health, or are they trying to clone and dictate what they believe should be the norm?

It is inevitable that one day President Obama and Michelle will fall to the old age ills that we all do and he will then understand and realize a "one size fits all" does not apply. I hope by that time we are still a country of freedom of choice and his policies have not forced us to be his clones.

We are having a beautiful spring Sunday here in southern Nevada which would guarantee anyone to aspire to a positive disposition. I was doing really well until I opened the Sunday newspaper, separated the parts I read and those I dispose of, and then I came to the LV Sun section. When I saw the column about the tea parties the negativity just swirled throughout my emotions.

It is stated on the top of the first page "Locally owned and independent' but on the second page, left corner it is revealed "The Sun is locally owned by the Greenspun family of Las Vegas and has been a separate voice in the community since 1950." The Greenspun family are the Democratic party leaders of our valley. This morning's LV Sun front page left hand column "Where I Stand" is written by Brian Greenspun. Mr. Greenspun's article is titled " 'Tea parties' resembled childish tantrums....Anti-tax rallies attempt at historical perspective was a sham."

As soon as I read only the title of the column, my husband recognized stress bubbling out of the top of my head and reminded me that it was Sunday and I should be cool and not read anything written by the liberal Democrats. As a good wife of 45 years I obeyed and put the newspaper down, but I couldn't let it stop there. Without disobeying, I knew I could write about the basic premise of the article. I will admit, however, that I did not read the complete column by Mr. Greenspan but I have reached my own conclusion. I have been in a feverish pitch all week from hearing rude reporters on CNN and other TV channels and glancing at other newspaper and internet columns with their coverage of the Tea Parties. I have came to the conclusion that the liberal press are bullies and hypocrites. The only individuals who have the freedom to march with acceptance are groups marching for Gay Rights and Abortion rallies, protests against Bush, etc. This march was against the present issues of the current administration and the marchers were comprised of all political backgrounds and they were demonized, chastised and degraded!

Well, Mr. Greenspun, you have a right to your opinion especially since you own the newspaper, but we have a right to have our voices heard. You may think the Tea Party was a sham, but you are writing about it, so there must have been some importance to the opinions of the many who gathered or you wouldn't have written a Sunday column about their issues even though you disagree.

MSM goes Ga-Ga over Katy Couric

Katy Couric is awarded the Cronkite Award for her interview of Sarah Palin. How nutty is that? I stopped watching that channel with her on a very long time ago, I think my kids were still in diapers, oh, that's too far back. Can't remember would be a better statement. Didn't like her cocky attitude - but, everyone else seem to loves Katy.

It is amazing how she got away with the false interview of Sarah. Forget Woman's Equality and Rights, if you aren't on the same course, forget it, you are toast. And Katy really toasted Sarah, at least she tried to.

Couldn't they find a better topic for an award? Or, are her interviews far and few between?

Mellowing out

As a Catholic, this is a very special time of the year and I have made a pact with myself from Holy Thursday until Easter Sunday to be nice and respectful. I promised to refrain from any scrutiny or rebellious opinionated writings. Lent is a time of sacrifice and repentance - although we should do that all the time - but as with tradition, this is the time of the year that demands more of that. I am normally weak of spirit when it comes to blabbing and keeping my opinions to myself is the most difficult, so the past couple of days without blogging here has been rewarding --- well, to a certain point.

Holy Saturday traditionally is the day of waiting, the day before Christ Resurrection. It's also been our family tradition on Holy Saturday we get together and we color eggs. It is a quiet day here. Trucker Don is on the road, Soldier Tom is in Washington DC, and daughter Suz isn't well, so that leaves only hubby, son Kevin, granddaughter Alex and me.

I embrace traditions and tried to instill the importance of our Christian beliefs in our children. I have fond memories of my family traditions and the values they have for me in my life as I grew up. Something as simple as getting together to color eggs as we prepare for one of the holiest days in our church is an everlasting memory. Celebrating the Resurrection together at the dinner table on Sunday, sharing the traditional meal of ham and all the goodies is just one of the many ingredients that keeps the family bond strong.

I have needed a respit from worrying and agnozing about our political problems. Although, it's almost like a soap opera, even if you miss one day of news, generally speaking, the MSM are talking about the same ole thing the next day. Karl Rove is still talking about VP Biden and that's ole news.

Was it or Wasn't it?

That is the question - what's in a bow? Was he picking up a nickel on the floor, picking lint off his pants, dying his shoes, or as has been stated via the White House, he was bowing down to shake the King's hand because the King is short and he is tall. Whoa! Brother, that's good!

More importantly, with the news Wells Fargo has made a profit. Here's a quote from Fox Business (click here ) "(WFC: 18.62, 3.74, 25.13%) gave a boost to the markets Thursday morning after the mostly West Coast bank said it sees it earning $3 billion, 55 cents per share in the first quarter, widely topping estimates for 23 cents per share and the $2 billion profit the bank earned this time last year. Shares of Wells soared more than 30% in early market action."
With that news, President Obama will not be accepting payment from Wells Fargo for the stimulas paid to them.

Heard the latest - the Obama Administration is going to attempt to control the weather. Gee whiz! I hope it works, we really do need rain here in Southern Nevada. Ha! An experienced weather man said on Foxs News this morning, all they would be doing is putting polution into the atmosphere similar to the smoke stacks we have today. They fly above the clouds and admit this special polutants into the airspace above the clouds. Groovy!

Best wishes and prayers for the American Capt. Richard Phillips. He gave himself up to free hijacked vessel. The Fox News report a few minutes ago, the boat he was in with the pirates was out of gas.

We've all heard these words of President Obama's on the news reports recently and also his arrogance and missteps haven't ended with what he says in this video.

This morning's reporting has President Obama speaking again to a group of students in Turkey. The appearance to me was staged as though he was a professor giving a lesson to his students rather than the President of the United States speaking to a foreign audience. This arena would be in his comfort level, wouldn't it? In addition,

To what level do we hold this man? He is dictating to other countries while at the same time he is blaming the previous administration of the same actions. Amazingly, his popularity remains intact and he continues to poll at a high percentage of acceptance.

If the Congress was a majority of Republicans or a balance, rules would not have have been changed so quickly. But, with the Democrats in power, President Obama is sweeping his policies quickly over our nation before we can take a second breath. We are not accustomed to being snowballed so obviously. We've usually had time to think it over but President Obama and his followers have come in like gangbusters to enforce change without discussion. When there is balance in the Congress, we can say "not so fast." But not this time. Obama said "change" and change we're getting. I am certain those voters who were ready for change from the Bush administration and voted for Obama didn't realize what kind of change they were going to get with Obama.

Which comes first Wall Street or the Unions?

I am reading an interesting article on Politico.com this morning about GMs CEO Wagoner and the amount of money "donated" to the GOP by Wagoner and GM. It seems GM gave a tat more to the GOP than the Democrats, but the Wagoners gave a more balance amount although more to the Republicans. In the 2008 election race, the Wagoner's contributed to Mitt Rommey's campaign and none to the Obama or McCain's campaign. Could there be an undercurrent of political attitute of payback for lack of monetary campaign financial support?

Also, I thought a very important issue, to me at least, Wagoner didn't come away from GM a poor man, he was given $20 million as he walked out the door.

As I was leaving the room on the TV the early morning news program on Fox's News, Bill Hemmer was interviewing a Union representative and the union rep was complaining about Wall Street getting all the breaks from Obama. Without listening to the debate between Bill and the guy, my first thought was without Wall Street could there be a union to worry about in the first place? Without a big business, why would we need a union?

A couple not so relevant issues, I have a Chevy Avalanche, it is my "change-of-life" baby. We all hear about guys buying their Corvettes or cute sports cars, well, this is my equivalent. I picked this truck out with lots of research. We had a Buick, then sold it for a Lincoln. But, I was so picky and always hollering at the grandkids to stop kicking the back of the seats, sit still, and all that needless harping, I knew I needed a rugged vehicle to haul around my grandkids especially our grandson - Solder Tom whom we were raising. He was playing football and in the band, and I was all the time picking up his friends and driving them around. I didn't want to be fussy about when I picked up Tom and his friends especially after football practice with all their gear. So on an instinct I went shopping after much research on the Avalanche and when I saw and drove this baby I knew I wanted it - and I am not an off the wall purchaser. I threw caution to the wind because I knew this was mine with only 4 miles on the mileage indicator. I enjoyed my Chevy truck more than the Lincoln Park Avenue and even on long trips. Granted the Lincoln has a smoother ride but for over all accommodations this is my choice. We sold the Lincoln and I never regretted it. It took Tom a while to get use to the Yellow truck, but there was no problem finding me in the school parking lot. Back then yellow vehicles were far and few, not like today. My reward was when Tom asked me when I was going to give him my Yellow truck - my answer was a huge laugh. When my husband retired a couple years ago, he sold his Ford diesel 350 four-wheel drive to downsize to one vehicle. and now he drives my Chevy. I don't want GM to go out of business. This vehicle has the best braking system of any vehicle I've ever driven. It gets decent gas mileage as well on the road and in town. My repair people are the best ever and give the best service. I am very satisfied with my GM product. However I do expect the business to be run so that it is beneficial to its customers and not so much as a government entity.

I know this is a "tender" time for our auto companies and perhaps they need the bailout rather than bankruptcy - I don't know, I didn't get as far as Economics in college - I had to drop out and take care of Brian after his accident in the Army. For me, I find it can be very difficult to "trust" our politicians. I do a lot of praying, worrying and hoping that they get it right. It's all a big mess, and I'm still scared about the future of our country - and I don't blame George Bush for all of this mess either.

Celebrate Human Achievement

Tonight, thousands of people around the world will participate in “Earth Hour” a holiday invented by the World Wildlife Fund that asks people to turn off the lights for an hour and think about the consequences of their energy use. Thousands of cities, iconic monuments, and even national government are participating in this anti-energy event. Even the Great Pyramids of Giza, the Acropolis in Athens, and even the Empire State Building will go dark for the event.

We won't be turning our lights out - we already conserve and recycle. We will be celebrating life and light!! The World Wildlife Fund is one of those organizations that have created many restrictions and gotten grand sums of money from our government for their causes.

I am not a believer in Global Warming nor do I agree with Al Gore's theory. There are too many other scientist who have proven his wrong.

Political TV for kids

Reading through the Saturday paper Wall Street Journal this morning, I came across this article as noted at the Online Wall Street Journal for your reading pleasure. I found it quite interesting because we do have an eight year old granddaughter living with us who is smart as can be and talks about everything they do in school and what she sees on TV (thank goodness!)

This article, titled "Politics for the Preschool Set" written by Bret Stephens. Mr. Stephens begins his column relating his observations as he drops off his children at school in the morning. He notices the girl's and boy's attire, then an addition to some - an "Obama 08 campaign button." These are second graders and they are being used as promoters of politics. At that age, all I was interested in was my pet parakeet and bike riding.

Mr. Stephens writes about the TV program featured on Nickelodeon - aren't we all familiar with those programs even if we are senior citizens as I am. The show "Noggin" was presenting specific political facts about President Obama. Now there's nothing inherently wrong with discussing our Presidents on a children's program as long as it's done in a "non-partisan" way. How silly is that to use in regard to a child's program, who would have thought that a respected and traditional child's program would go so far as to promote one politician over another. In Mr. Stephens column, he writes that he had called Nickelodeon and "was told the clip was done for black history month (along with clips of other notable African-Americans) and had "no political overtones."" However, there has not been any programing relating to President Bush or any prior presidents.

What's wrong with this picture, are they so engrossed in trying to get their liberal opinion across that they would use their kids do to their showing off? I would use the term brain-washing because at that age, kids will believe anything and not understand the difference.

You have your right to your opinions and to favor President Obama just as I have a right as an American to disagree. I respect your rights as I would hope you would respect my rights as well. I do not see things in the same way you do with regards to our political issues. Please don't let this difference come between what friendship we can have. I can't seem to get over this, or maybe get through it is a better way of expressing it. The thought just came to mind, maybe its because I am old-er. I'll be the age of Medicare this year, so maybe my reaction to President Obama's behavior is as a result of my old age and this is the reason rationalizing his behavior has contributed to my sour attitude the past couple of days. Speaking of bad behavior, I forgot about Bill Clinton. Who could forget when the President Clinton shook his finger and said those infamous words! Well, DUH! yes, I should have guessed, this must be a Democratic trait and perhaps that's why no one "seems" to be as emotion about it - or expects any different behavior. Have we become so passe with bad or inappropriate behavior with our politicians we brush them off with only a mention. Maybe we're reached the point of "what's the use" or "there's nothing we can do about" attitude.

I am totally ticked off at the juvenile behavior of President Obama during the interview on 60 minutes Sunday night. The laughathon of President Obama during a serious interview about our economy was shear lunacy. Several have said the interviewer, Steve Croft, had no right to react and was disrespectful to ask "are you punch drunk?" and maybe so, but I DO expect a mature behavior from my President at all times and I would guess so did Mr. Croft. President's Obama explanation was that was trying to be positive or having a light moment . Being positive is certainly not having a giggle fest during an interview of that caliber. Making light of a very serious event is very immature. His behavior is very unacceptable!

We have been sold a fake bill of goods. The perception we've been given is all an illusion. The Big Top circus has come to town and we're paying dearly to watch the show. I'll repeat what I said in an earlier post - I'm scared. These Democrats are out to ruin our country.

This morning as per our Sunday morning routine, my husband and I were watching the early CBS Sunday Morning program with Charles Kuralt's - here's this morning's link. One issue I found most interesting was the story about a group called Mensa, link here. I quote from the CBS page "Some 2,000 of the planet’s best and brightest minds met in Denver, Colo., recently for the annual gathering of Mensa, the international high IQ society. It’s an exclusive group: To join, you need an IQ score of at least 130........One of the society’s 100,000 members explained it this way: "Most of us are just a little different, a little out-of-step. And here we fit in."

How does this relate to my post this Sunday morning - certainly not because I am intellectually competent to join Mensa - one of the questions on the application was "how many stars and stripes on the American flag in 1939?" I didn't know that answer! But, watching the program brought home to me how fortunate we are that we can be different and live in our country with freedom, especially freedom of belonging to groups of individuals with like minds.

The election last year was a historical one for many reasons - A woman, an African American and an Old man (and younger woman VP) running for President. I voted on the basis of my belief - not on gender or heredity. Back in 1990s I did not vote for Bill Clinton either - he was and still is the best orator on this earth - running almost neck and neck with Ronald Reagan and Ronald Reagan in the lead. Bill Clinton reminded me of one of my old boyfriends who threw away his girlfriends like they were candy wrappers from a Snickers bar. He was suave and debonair and sexy too, but I knew underneath all that, well, I knew because of his principles I wasn't voting for him.

It was the same for the 2008 elections. I voted for the individual and the party who shared my values and what I want for the future of this country. I don't look at the gender, the skin color or the age, I want what I believe is best for my country. This blog has become home for me to vent these opinions. It is my comfort spot to exchange thoughts and ideas with other like minded folks. It is not uncommon for me to require of my husband or friends to "check out Right Klik" because he explains the issues so clearly and understandably.

Having said all of that, finally I want to say thanks so much for sharing and providing education on so many different issues and levels by so many different opinions that can't be learned or found on any other venue. A treasure chest of gold, for sure!

President of Change

Sixty days or so now we have experienced the Office of the President of Change. I think we have a pretty good idea of what kind of change we're getting and about to receive in the future - or is this just a taste of the pie! Are we experiencing some type of digression? Our country has come too far for this. Or can this be something we've come to accept but not experience on the big stage and venue? Segregation in our White House is not what our government is built on or what it is suppose to be all about. We need to ask if this could be a prelude to what sort of change in our White House we are about to experience. President Barack Obama was elected by the majority which included all race and nationalities and he couldn't/wouldn't have been elected without this. This event today isn't proper! Why is this being permitted to happen!

"This achievement and the overall promise of his historic administration caused the National Newspaper Publishers Assn. to name him "Newsmaker of the Year." The president is to receive the award from the federation of black community newspapers in a White House ceremony this afternoon."

Folks, what is happening inside our White House? Why aren't all Press organizations permitted to cover this story? Why are people especially those in the press NOT upset and up in arms about this situation? This story is being reported by the LA Times and you can read about it here.

Heeeerrrrrrreeee's Barack! and here's where the infamous Johnny Carson theme song comes in! There are accolades from all over the place citing what a great job our President did on the Jay Leno show. (I didn't watch it!) I think NBC should give President Barack Obama his own show, a good idea for when when he loses the election in 2012. Amazing what this guy is getting away with during this critical economical time in our country. It would be like me going out and partying and yucking it up when I have a child seriously ill in the hospital! I know maybe that's a lame comparison, but folks, I expect more mature and responsible behavior from my President. This is being irresponsible and a bad joke at best.

What about the tea bags? I guess I missed this one. Recently I have talked to two friends of different lifestyles and who do not know each other and they asked if I was sending teabags to our political leaders. Both friends were very passionate about this tea bag activity and as I've read on line there are many cities who are promoting this action. Maybe if I had paid more attention to Glen Beck and the 912 happening I'd be in their loop. Here is the link to Glenn Beck's project if you are interested. As a point to know, I do recall that Glenn mentioned NOT to send the actual tea bag, rather just send the tag, because as the politician's office receive an envelope with a tea bag, it is thrown away as a precaution. We will be sending out our tea bag tags to our Nevada politicians this week.

On another point of interest on the Glenn Beck's show, he talked about Thomas Paine's book "Common Sense" and referred to a you tube video, which you can view here. As a final note today, my Nevada friends have also voiced their opinion on our Senator Reid and how dissatisfied they are with what he is doing today in the Senate. One friend says she will most definitely be working hard during election season to see he doesn't get re-elected. At this point, however, I personally don't seen anyone in Nevada who is strong enough to stand against Reid. Let us pray! Please, Lord, protect and bless our country!

Yes, can you imagine me speechless - I've always got an opinion about something, although maybe I'll mention a few then be on my way.

President Obama made a "Biden" slip last night on Jay Leno's, and I know you've heard about it about a few million times already - you know, the one about his bowling ability and the Special Olympics. Good grief, both our leaders sure do lack common sense. I know it was just a slip, but surely, since everyone (except me, it seems) thinks Obama is such a great orator, he should be able to come out with something more clever than comparing himself to an unfortunate disabled child.

Are we ever going to get by the payoffs and the stimulas packages kabunkle? I know our President is trying to side step all his fabunkles by talking about education, health care, and something else. Too bad he doesn't find a Humility or Humble Package and praise our military for the great job they've done in Iraq. I suppose it would be too much for his and the Democrats pride to admit that success.

Michelle Obama is going to plant a garden on the South Lawn of the White House. Alice Waters made comment on what a good idea it is. I hope First Lady Michelle requests Alice Waters assistance. I do admire Ms. Waters abilities. She has great cookbooks and has creative and simplistic ideas for cooking and serving. Personally, I think it is a great idea, especially having the area school children help out with the gardening. I am still wondering what ever happen to those children who attended the same school as the Obama children and who lost their scholarships due to a bill signed by President Obama. Where are they now?

How lucky for me, I just checked Drudgereport and found this photo of President Obama doing the bowling pose. Not bad.

Are you tired of hearing nothing but Bailout, Bailout, money paid, we lose, goin raise our taxes, on and on and on! Doesn't anyone have any fun out there? Oh, wait a minute, have you been invited to a party at the Obama's place? I read where they served green sparklie stuff on St. Patrick's Day or was it that night? Do you realize they are having more fun than we are? We're spending too much time agonizing over all these problems. Let's have fun too. Let's get some people in the White House and the Congress who want to party with the common people. Michelle Obama told the military mother's they could come to the White House for tea - hmm, I wonder if she has followed through with that invite? I'm a military mom and Gold Star mom too, I wonder if I'll get an invite. You're darn tootin I'll go too, I've got to see all the big deal about her arms and biceps. I want to check out how they decorated the White House too. I'm not crazy about that bright GOLD curtain President Obama stands in front of for his speeches.

This morning's Fox News program with Bill and Megyn was great. They covered a multitude of political sins right down to interviewing a guy from ACORN. Megyn threatened to cut off his mike because he was interrupting her so often and wouldn't answer her questions - I really wanted her to cut him off, I am so bad today! Just give me the facts ma'am, just the facts. Oh, yeah! How about that Glenn Beck! Thank goodness for Fox News - life would be so boring and we'd be in such a pickle. President Barack Obama made the wisest choice possible today by dropping his plans to make our military pay for their own medical care if they come home from the war wounded, injured or just in need of care. Worker's Compensation - no more!

If you are injured on the job, you have Worker's Compensation to depend on to pay for the injuries you have may incurred. If your boss doesn't see fit to compensate you for your pain and suffering and injuries you have the right to sue. Can you imagine if you are an enlisted soldier in the United States Army and you are suddenly hit by a bullet or receive shrapnel or your vehicle rolls over a roadside bomb and you lose both of your legs and you are told - no way, you pay for your injuries yourself, soldier, you have to use your own insurance and pay out of your pocket! Up until this week, you would have had the confidence as a military solder you would be taken care of by the government, and the people you are serving with your life would stand by your benefits. But, that could all end with a stroke of the pen if President Obama chooses to do so. You would have to pay for your service connected injuries out of YOUR pocket and you CANNOT sue the government. Why in the world would you want to serve a government who wouldn't take care of you in those circumstances?

I know first hand the benefits of service-connected medical services. My son was severely disabled by an on duty non-combat accident. We eventually brought him home from the VA hospital to care for him, and provided care for him for nine years until he passed away as a result of his injuries. We were able to provide this care at home because of his benefits. Yes, it is expensive to our government's budget but it's minimal compared to what Worker's Compensation pays out to ordinary citizens - and yet, that it is our right to receive these benefits. As a civilian, how would you feel if suddenly, you would not be covered if you had an on the job injury? Yet, our men and women serving in the military today willingly sign up to serve our country and many of them have served several tours of duty in extremely hazardous environments. They have the confidence their country will take care of them. They are proud to serve and do so without grumbling or complaining. Do you think they would get upset because their cup of coffee is too hot, or because they have a small pain in the wrist - no, they continue on to serve and protect, to aid and support their fellow soldiers and the United States of America, without apprehension. The least we can do is ALWAYS be there for them when they need our support.

I wonder what President Obama is thinking, or if he is thinking and planning since he will be sending many thousands of troops into Afganistan soon. There are many elements of hazards in Afganistan far different and dangerous than what our troops experienced in Iraq.

What will happen if President Obama takes away the health benefits of our soldiers especially now? I venture to guess that our population of volunteer recruits to all the branches of service would decline as well as those reinlisting might give it a second thought - do you think we need that right now - NO. I personally have no confidence in President Obama to face a violent enemy who may decide to take over our country. In my opinion he has not shown any common sense in handling any military decision especially in view of this particular issue. He may have an outstanding reputation for being a good orator, which I have my reservations about, but he does lack the experience and knowledge necessary to lead this country in the time of war or any confrontation. Our first lady, Michelle, is commanding audiences of military wives and families saying she is making it a priority to help the military families. Well, excuse me, do you think First Lady Michelle, taking away their health coverage will be AIDING the families? I think you need to talk to your husband, Mrs. Obama!

As I was browsing for news clips to share this morning there were none on my usually haunts of columns about the American Legion and the current discussion about the change of military health care. Everyone is focused on the AIG fiasco. I went to the American Legion website which has terrific coverage, of course, and information for those who may wish to check it out, please go here.

I would have never believed any one of our elected presidents would jeopardize the lives of our military heroes however since President Barack Obama has come into office, we have all seen many changes which have left us breathless to say the least! I hope you will make a difference and let your elected official know what a bad idea changing the healthcare coverage policies for our veterans will be. I know first hand the care from the VA and some of the military hospitals isn't perfect, it is improving, but without it for our military to depend on, would ruin their lives financially forever. The Veteran's have it too difficult now. Too many veterans end up homeless, without jobs, and without their families. Please don't let this atrocity happen to them - don't let President Obama sign the bill to take away our military healthcare benefits.

I'm starting my St. Patrick's Day going to my favorite hairdresser, no, I'm not getting green hair - at least hopefully not! So the rest of the day will be busy so I wanted to post tomorrow's tiding tonight.

I couldn't find any exciting news to write about without getting totally agitated and it's too late in the evening for that - I would have to drink a complete bottle of wine if I got started on the AIG business. Oh, I have searched the news reports for this bit without any success of finding it - we saw on this mornings network news clippings of tidbits there had been papers that had gone through the Congress about the mortgage problems and the corporations like AIG last year but they were never brought up on the floor for voting. This was before George Bush was out of office. I guess we all knew that though - the Dems are so juvenile, they can't accept responsibility and have to blame the other guy.

One point of interest I was happy to see in Townhall online paper tonight is that Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin will deliver the keynote address at a dinner sponsored by the House and Senate Republican campaign committees. My own personal opinion, I hopes she runs for Senate of Alaska rather than jump back in for the President race i 2012. For her own benefit and experience, I think she would succeed far better and get her feet into the jungle. Not that she doesn't know how to handle herself - I think she's great. I want her to go all the way to the top.

We're off to our favorite Irish pub tomorrow night for some Irish cooking - you all have a great evening! And, Happy St. Patrick's Day.

Brain overload

There's been too much going on this week for my brain to commute, compute, dissimulate, disassociate, or translate, so I took a sabbatical. I'm not sure I have yet come to terms with the overload of news and I may have to take a semi-sabbatical this week. The Sunday Las Vegas Review Journal is waiting for me to open and read my favorite Sunday columnist who are always stimulating. I believe almost every word they write, well, almost, I am gullible, but not too stupid to realize I have to think for myself. Will our financial world be any safer with Bernie Madoff in jail? Are there more schemes out there for us to be worried about - like the federal government's big scheme bailout?

Last week, Drudgereport highlighted an article about the President and First Lady courting socialites, you can read about it here. Granted, I want my president to have contacts and to be savvy and mannerly and have clout, and all that good stuff necessary to have contacts and know how to present himself in public with other Heads of State and Presidents of other countries and Prime Ministers. Barack Obama's background didn't come with all those niceties of clout of the Ultra Rich and as President he needs those qualities and associations. I suppose this is one means to achieve that goal. However, I do resent the fact he didn't do anything for the school kids in the Washington DC district to help them achieve a better education to help them get ahead. To me, in essence, he threw the baby, the milk and the carriage out in the gutter. Not a word was uttered when Congress pulled the support for scholarships. It wasn't that much money compared to what was spend in Iowa for smelly pigs.

We have a standing date on Sunday mornings to watch CBS Sunday Morning (see it here). The very first report today was on the economy of Las Vegas. And, yes, we do have a housing crisis much like everyone else in the country, maybe worse. I appreciated the fact they did show Las Vegas Mayor Goodman discussing the issue of President Obama citing businesses for coming to Las Vegas for conventions and such. It may seem obvious and reasonable to someone who doesn't live in Vegas, but the companies didn't cancel their plans, they took their conventions to other cities and most likely spent more of their companie' money. They would have gotten a better deal in Las Vegas, thus saving money for their stockholders. The President's criticism has hurt our economy badly. And, what still bugs me is the union support President Obama received here during the election. The comment from Obama hasn't seemed to affect the continued support today from the culinary union even though many culinary workers have lost their jobs. President Obama did no favors for Las Vegas yet the unions continue to support him. I just don't get it.

We did attend our first Blue Star Mother's meeting yesterday. It was amazing and sometimes tearful to meet the Mothers of military children deployed. Some families have two or more serving. It was an awesome experience to be in their presence and I felt proud to be with them. Blue Star Mother's are those mom's who have children serving in the military. After the meeting since we were in the area we decided to stop at Frys the big electronic store. I was thoroughly shocked as we searched for a parking space - there were none to be found except at the far end of the lot. The store was absolutely packed and people were buying big ticket items. I went there to find an item I couldn't make up my mind about whether to buy online or in person - the in person won out. Frys did get my two cents and that's all. I guess we have priorities where we're spending our money and I would venture to guess from the crowds I've seen there's money being spent on electronics and groceries especially at CostCo where there's always a crowd no matter what day or time.
